Seoul is known for its markets and long-running local eateries, which makes it a great city to eat your way through on foot. This itinerary centers on places like Gwangjang Market, Bangsan Complex Market, Seoul Jung-bu Market, and every meal is a short walk from the stop before it.
From Incheon Airport it takes about 1 hr by the AREX airport railroad. Anything within about 20 minutes on foot, you walk.
You stay all 3 nights near National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Deoksugung and start every day from the same place — no repacking.
Day 1: Gwangjang Market, Bangsan Complex Market, Seoul Jung-bu Market, Dongdaemun Complex Market. Lunch at Hamheung Gombpo Naengmyeon, dinner at Jinokhwa Halmae Wonjo Dakhanmari.
Day 2: Mangwon Market, Mangwon World Cup Market, Mangwon Hangang Park, Mangwonjeong Ruins, Seoul Ship Park. Lunch at Mangwon Market Kalguksu, dinner at Yeonhuidong Halmeonine.
Day 3: Myeongdong Namdaemun Bukchangdong Dadong Mugyo-dong Tourist District, Namdaemun Cutlassfish Braised Alley, Namdaemun Market, Namdaemun Ginseng Market, Sangdong Church. Lunch at Myeongdong Gyoja Main Branch, dinner at 5ppa Tteokbokki.
Day 4: Geumnam Market, Dalmatyi Neighborhood Park. Lunch at Oksu Haemul-jjim Kalguksu. Then head back to Incheon Airport.
Some market stalls close by late afternoon, so earlier is better. Go a little hungry and share small plates at several places.
