About this course
Sokcho, a port city between Seoraksan and the East Sea, is known for mulhoe and grilled fish, the Abai sundae and squid sundae of Abai Village (settled by North Korean refugees after the war), fried shrimp at Daepo Port, and squid and raw fish at Dongmyeong Port.
This 2-night, 3-day itinerary arrives by express bus from Seoul and covers Sokcho Beach, Cheongchoho Lake, Abai Village and the central pier on day 1, Seoraksan, Oeongchi and Daepo Port on day 2, and Dongmyeong Port and Yeonggeumjeong on day 3, with a Sokcho specialty at every meal. You stay two nights at one hotel near Cheongchoho Lake.
Day 1: walk from the terminal to a mulhoe lunch near Sokcho Beach, stroll the beach and Cheongchoho Lake, take the Gaetbae hand-pulled ferry to Abai Village for Abai sundae and squid sundae, then raw fish for dinner downtown.
Day 2: sundae soup for breakfast, a bus to Seoraksan for Sogongwon, Sinheungsa and the cable car, raw fish for lunch at the Daepo fish center, fried shrimp in the alley, the Oeongchi coastal path, then pork-bone soup for dinner downtown.
Day 3: Dongmyeong Port and Yeonggeumjeong, raw squid at the port stalls, grilled fish for lunch at the central pier, then the terminal.
